Monthly 'Regular' Competitions Pilchuck Camera Club is a 'competition' club in that members may submit up to 3 images each month to be judged by club members. The highest scoring images are awarded certificates for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention. The points / scores assigned to the submitted images accumulate annually for achievement awards. Monthly competition images images are eligible for submission in the annual 'Image of the Year' (IOY) competition and the PSA Interclub Competition. Image Of The Year Annual Competition At the conclusion of each year's regular monthly club competitions, members may submit up to three of their monthly competition images for the Image Of the Year competition. Wildflower Annual Competition The 'Wildflower' competition is part of the annual Image of the Year Competition. Throughout the year, club members work at taking the best possible wildflower image and then at the end of the year may submit up to 3 images for this competition. Assigned Subject Annual Competition Each year the club selects one topic for it's annual assigned subject competition. Members work on the topic throughout the year and at the end of the year select their three images that best represent the theme and submit them to be judged. These images are judged outside of the club and the winners announced at the annual 'Image of the Year' banquet held in late February or early March. Photographer's Choice (Annual Non Competition Assignment) Each year the club selects 20 topics to work on during the year. The purpose of this is to encourage and promote photographing a variety of subject and to expand each photographer's photographic horizons. it also provides inspiration for those days your inclined to take photographs but just don't know what to take. At the end of the year, each photographer selects one image taken during the year of each topic (hence "photographer's choice") and the images are shown at the club's annual Christmas Party in December. |
